Short Session Description: Virtual School Garden Exchanges are linking learners from different parts of the world, who are engaged in school gardening via digital media like photos, videos or videoconferences.

Full Session Description: All around the world exist schools with a school garden. To bring the global perspective into the school garden, a Virtual School Garden Exchange is a wonderful opportunity! Learners from different parts of the world can exchange about their gardens but also about climate change, biodiversity, food and agriculture. Gardens become a window to the world. In this session I want to share some experiences from the practise with interested teachers. Go! Global Garden, as part of the Go! Global initiative of the ESD Expert Net is an example, where learners from India, South Africa, Mexico and Germany did such a Virtual School Garden Exchange. On the other side, I'm a researcher in this field and can share some insides from my research regarding challenges and possible solutions for a successful implementation.
