Short Session Description: Student driven eco-initiatives towards United Nation's Sustainable Developmental Goals - a case study & invite to join the movement

Full Session Description:
Through the session we hope to share our journey & learnings with classrooms across the world. Using examples of the work done by the students, the session aims at inspiring & guiding classrooms to collaborate & take action to protect the environment at school, home & community level.

Strand 1 - Exploring the relationship between different cultures & environment through fables/traditional stories/religious texts
Strand 2 - Identifying local/indigenous communities practicing sustainable living with a small carbon footprint
Strand 3 - Exploring relationship between current practices & loss of habitat
Strand 4 - Sharing traditional/indigenous knowledge that can be adapted to address current environmental crises with peers across the globe
Strand 5 - Surveying the existing situation at school level by conducting an eco-audit to find how green our school really is in terms of - air quality, energy-water consumption, waste segregation-waste disposal, green cover
Strand 6 - Adopting workable solutions towards a greener environment & sustainable living at school, home & community level (using examples of student led initiatives - Afforestation Drive, Kitchen Garden, Project Tiger, Eco Ganesha, Cracker-free Diwali, Proper disposal of e-waste, Recycling paper, Recycled plastic roads)
Strand 7 - Analyzing environmental problems in city, global discussion to seek solutions on how the problem is handled in different cities across the world. Making recommendations for corrective action by starting an online petition on change.org
