Bringing the Study Abroad Experience Home: Using Tech to Share Your Stories

Full Session Description

Alumni of the NSLI-Y exchange program in Morocco and Korea share their experiences through blogs and video. How did creating this media help to educate their peers and families back home about their host countries? How did compiling photos, editing video, and crafting stories inform their own experience?  Students will share examples of their work and discuss the feedback and different reactions that they received.

Teachers and students will learn about the craft of creating effective blogs and videos from NSLI-Y Alumni, hear their stories and find out about study abroad opportunities.

Participants will learn about the benefits of the cultural immersion experience, best practices for documenting their observations and newfound understanding that comes from a more participatory approach to the exchange experience.
