Short Session Description (one line): Co-creating Open Access/Open Educational Resources in the form of online textbooks with university level students for deeper learning and have global reach
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):Upper year undergraduate students were tasked with creating online textbook chapters in an Open Educational Resource environment. They were responsible for not only content-creation but understanding how to translate Open Access biology to textbook material, and how OERs are important in many areas of the world in terms of access to learning materials. The practice, theory and discussion of how OERs can be used to frame global connectedness of learning and why Open Education is important in the global setting will be discussed.
