Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Over the last few years, we have seen a dramatic change in how Millennials seem to adapt a different style of learning. Coupled with rising needs to learn new 21st century skills, and distractions from mainstream social media apps - there is an need to change our approach to shift focus towards being effective and productive citizens for the future.
Unfortunately, our current digital tools available do not make it easy to manage this change. Most teaching/learning remain didactic, and students still struggle to form meaningful relationships with their friends and teachers. Beyond that, there is no easy and consistent way within the school to instill meaningful values.
But now this could change with technology. Over last 10 months, we have incorporated a new type of social e-learning tool across schools in Singapore and Indonesia to help students to move groups from offline to online, capture in a visual way their learning journeys, and move assessments from just the result (eg tests) to the process of learning. In this session we will share about these use cases, results and open up a discussion to explore how this could be adopted in wider domains globally.
