Your Name and Title: Rachael Bell-Irving, Digital Outreach Coordinator

School or Organization Name: Ocean Wise

Co-Presenter Name(s): n/a

Area of the World from Which You Will Present: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Language in Which You Will Present: English

Target Audience(s): Education facilities, museums, zoos, aquariums, and other informal education institutions looking to start their own digital learning or outreach initiatives.

Short Session Description (one line): Online learning can empower organizations to provide education for a wide diversity and range of audiences across geographical borders, but how do you get started?

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Ocean Wise Education reaches a global audience through its various outreach programs, connecting people with the incredible life and resources under the waves. A large contributor to the geographic reach of Ocean Wise Education is the Online Learning & Ocean Literacy department, which began in earnest three years ago. With little knowledge and experience, the online learning team went from zero to building up a three-tiered program that reaches 110,000 participants annually. In this webinar, the digital outreach coordinator will share a project creation strategy that organizations or individuals may use to start their own online outreach programs, and the tips and tricks they have learned along the way. This webinar will help other educators break down the barriers of online learning, reduce the fear and mystery around using technology in education, and provide examples and ideas for other organizations to begin their own outreach.

Rachael,

Thanks for your proposal. Can you edit your proposal and correct the URL that you provided? It's not working for me. Once you've done this, I'll approve your submission.

Thanks,

Lucy Gray

Conference Co-Chair

Thank you for catching that Lucy. It's been fixed and should work now.
