This workshop will explore globally transferable skills such as communication, creativity, resilience, and resourcefulness in addition to the rationale and pedagogy behind using the maker mindset to enhance learning with primary school learners. Furthermore, we will explore how these global skills enhance reading and mathematics, even with non-native speakers. Participants will be able to see real-life examples of iTime (passion projects) and maker challenges that engage students to be creative be problem solvers and use critical thinking skills through hands-on  (and sometimes collaborative) inquiry-based learning. Participants will come away with an understanding of how they might embed and promote the maker mindset in their classroom or school to transform their learning environment to improve learning outcomes whether at a school with many resources on hand or on a shoestring budget.

Thank you for your proposal for our upcoming conference. Our conference is focused on globally connecting teaching and learning as well as educational access for all ( SDG 4: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdg4). The GEC is not focused on general education or ICT topics and every proposal must include an international aspect.

Please revise your proposal and make sure it has direct ties to our mission: https://www.globaleducationconference.org/page/our-mission. Additionally, make sure that your proposal includes clearly articulated goals and outcomes for session participants.
