I will begin by discussing efforts by a variety of noted professors of hip hop to infuse hip hop pedagogy into the classroom.  I will highlight examples of after school programs that are having an impact on educating the hip hop generation.  We will discuss the pillars of hip hop and how hip hop pedagogy is much more than just using rap music for educational purposes. Finally we will discuss the issue of global hip hop and hip hop pedagogy as a new tool for the global teacher to create collaboration and relevance in the classroom and across classrooms by looking at the model of Rap Genius Battles.
