Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Micro-learning is "the process of learning through short, digestible and well-planned units". It has become

increasingly relevant as technology changes the way we learn and work. The main objectives of this

presentation is to create knowledge awareness among target audience on the importance of micro-

learning and its potentials in our educational practices in the 21st century. In addition, I'm going to

explain the weaknesses of micro-learning which I consider as some kind of challenges that should be

tackled to help achieve planned outcomes, benefits or results of this emerging strategy.

Micro-learning provide students with the knowledge and skills that help them be globally competent students. As it is a kind of focused learning, micro-learning enables students to investigate the world by focusing on some certain critical questions and reachable problems. By discussing these problems, they understand how cultures, geography, ideology and faith differ. At this point they can exchange various ideas as they work effectively toward achieving certain goals. In micro-learning learners learn through short, digestible and well-planned units, as a result. they are able to take action easily by practicing acquired knowledge and skills to make differences in the world and they can reflect on their actions.

Globally competent students are life long learners. They are able to adapt and contribute knowledge and understanding to a world that is constantly, rapidly evolving. That is one the main characteristics and potentials of micro-learning as shown in presentation title.
