In order for stakeholders to become globally competent, this is a strategic look at global education, its benefits and risks, in terms of cultural diversity, intellectual wisdom, and the redefinition of economic and ecological boundaries.

 

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

The session will start with a review of the definitions and goals of global education and global competency. We will then delve into topics such as cultural diversity, standardizing of education, discernment, and wisdom in global terms.

 

Participants will gain insights in dealing with the compression of change in terms of life-long learning and sharing knowledge. Examples of professional development scenarios will be discussed.

 

Suggestions and tips will be presented on finding curricular project partners globally, developing personal learning networks and cultivating strategic alliances for the purposes of global competency. Personal stories of networking with various groups will be shared.
