Participate In Our 8th Annual Global Education Day at #ISTE19

The 2019 International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Annual Conference is taking place June 23-26 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Join Lucy Gray, Steve Hargadon, and members of the Global Education Conference community on Sunday, June 23rd from 2:30 PM to 5:15 PM at our 8th annual Global Education Day meet up in which you can connect and collaborate with other globally-minded educators and organizations. This is a great way to meet other attendees before the official start of the ISTE conference!

This interactive event will feature:

  • Inspirational ignite talks by noted educators and organizations working to connect classrooms
  • Design sprints around the formation of global project-based learning opportunities (NEW THIS YEAR!)
  • A global resource smackdown in which attendees will share the best resources and tools for creating global experiences for students

Here is our schedule:

2:30 - 2:45 Open Remarks by Lucy Gray and Steve Hargadon

2:45 - 3:00 First two ignite talks

3:00 - 3:30 PM Design Sprint 1

3:30 - 3:45 PM Next two ignite talks

3:45 - 4:15 PM Design Sprint 2

4:15 - 4:30 PM Last two ignite talks

4:30 - 4:45 PM Project Pitches

4:45 - 5:15 PM Global Resources Smackdown

 And, here are important details:

  1. Register to attend the ISTE conference in order to attend the Global Education Day on June 23rd. ISTE requires a registration fee; Global Education Day does not require an additional fee.
  2. Our event will have limited seating, and there is no pre-registration for the event itself.
  3. Attendees will be admitted on a first come, first served basis starting at 2 PM on June 23rd.
  4. We need volunteers! If you would like to serve as an ignite speaker, design sprint facilitator, or share resources, sign up here. We will reserve seats for those chosen for these activities provided that people have registered for the ISTE conference.
  5. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to provide travel assistance to this informal meeting. Travel arrangements are the sole responsibility of the attendees.

Please share this flyer with friends and colleagues who might be attending the ISTE conference and follow news on Twitter using the hashtag #globaled19. If you have any questions, please email us at lucy@globaledevents.com

Thanks, and we hope to see you in Philly!
