The Center for Latin American Studies at the University Florida has a mission to disseminate information and bring together educators interested in the region through several programs. In this session, participants will learn about free resources and teaching ideas to raise awareness of Latin America in their curriculum and classes. Participants will also learn about professional development and collaboration opportunities with Latin American National Resource Centers across the United States.
Presenters will elaborate on the traveling suitcase programs of several Latin American Centers including Vanderbilt, University of Kansas, and the University of Florida. These artifact collections on different regional topics are shipped to teachers throughout the U.S. to use in their classrooms as teaching tools. We will also discuss the Global Virtual Guest Visit Program, our Professional Language Network-NOBLE and summer teacher institutes. Finally, we will introduce teachers to our large collection of literature from the Digital Library of the Caribbean to the lending library that UF manages in collaboration with Tulane University.

Thanks for the proposal, Mary. Can you elaborate a little further on your topic? This current description is very short and could benefit from added details.
Mary, can you edit this and elaborate further? I'll approve it once you've added to this.
Hi. Sorry for the delay. We are working on this. It turns out our grad students will most likely present so I am getting their feedback on what we will cover. Thanks, Mary
