About Me or Reason for Joining the GEC:
Since I came to NGS in 2012, I have served as an instructional design manager, education grants director, and now Regional Director for the Educator Network for nine Midwest states. I have been involved, among other things, in co-developing and "nurturing" the National Geographic Learning Framework, developing and launching the first four NGS micro-credentials, and co-authoring two chapters for NCSS bulletins related to teaching with the C3 Framework. I believe that all education is local AND global and that students need to have a deep understanding of the world and their place in it. We are building an explorer mindset in learners and having a global perspective is key to this mindset.
